Well I want share with you people some of music and info related to the artist... I think a good way to get started this is talking about this GREAT band.
Back in 1966 ... some where in the UK a boy who was cheking the charts, I on the top off tons of songs, he read "I Feel free", and he don´t realize who that song was a little piece of the cake of a great phenomenon that will change many things in music.
You probably know very well that the 60´s was the Age of psychedelic and the hippie´s movement also the born of the very first hard rock bands, who play very loud riff with the electric guitar, based on blues and making a new versión very diffferent from the Rhythm & Blues or the pop rock played on the radio at the time.
And soo much power just was made for 3 youngs, but expirenced, musicans. A guitarist whose vyrtuosity inspired one fan to spray paint the words "Eric Clapton is God". Clapton had met Bruce when the bassist/vocalist briefly played with the Bluesbreakers, impressed with Bruce's vocals and technical prowess, Clapton wanted to work with him on an ongoing basis. Soo when Ginger (drummer)saw the Bluesbreakers, after the gig spoke with Eric in order to create a new band together, Clapton agreed, on the condition that Baker hire Bruce as the group's bassist. What Clapton did not know was that while Bruce was in Bond's band, he and Baker had been notorious for their quarrelling. And Bruce was driven away from the band after Baker threatened him at knifepoint... that´s heavy. However, Baker and Bruce were able to put aside their differences (for a while) for the good of Baker's new trio, which he envisioned as collaborative, with each of the members contributing to music and lyrics. The band was named "Cream", as Clapton, Bruce, and Baker were already considered the "cream of the crop".
This "POWER TRIO" as we say in Spanish, was destined to do history, their debut album "Freash Cream" has two versions, one for UK and other to USA, both are just great, with songs like "Toad" which contained one of the earliest examples of a drum solo in rock music. The psychedelic age touch Cream´s blues, routing the development of a groove heavy music what defines "Disraeli Gears", giving us an all time clasic rock song as "Sunshine of your love" and the great cover of an older blues song "crossroads". It was during this time that Cream started to stretch out on stage, incorporating more jamming time in their repertoire, some songs reaching 20 minutes.
Just two more LP was made by cream. "Goodbye" was released in early 1969, after the band had broken up. It featured six songs which three of those was live recordings songs.
Well all the people who know the band, knew this could end on few month, from its creation, Cream were faced with some fundamental problems that would later lead to its dissolution in November 1968. The rivalry between Bruce and Baker created tensions in the band. Clapton also felt that the members of the band did not listen to each other enough. Clapton once told a story that when Cream was playing in a concert, he stopped playing and neither Baker nor Bruce noticed. Clapton has also commented that Cream's later gigs mainly consisted of its members showing off. Cream decided that they would break up in May 1968 during a tour of the US. Later, in July an official announcement was made that the band would break up after a farewell tour of the United States and after playing two concerts in London.
the Cream´s achievements are the inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993, have the guitarist with the second african Look in the UK and create a ultra clasical heavy song that I´m sure will trascend the human existence.
